My First 500 Pts – Meet My Tau
May 13th, 2013So I have been really terrible about getting my posts up on Sundays for the past couple of weeks. (In all fairness, yesterday was Mother’s Day and I did nothing but play the Sims and have a painting party with my man.)
What did you paint at your painting party you ask? Oh I’ll tell you.
It’s All in the Paint
April 28th, 2013One of my favorite parts of Warhammer is painting the minis. I’ve seen some really well painted armies as well as some really creative armies. I’ve also seen some badly painted armies and armies that just plain haven’t been painted. I’m back on my psychology kick this week – let’s see if you guys agree with me.
A frequent visitor of Gigabites, Kane, has by far the most creative army I’ve seen so far. He added pieces to the vehicles as well as bent the pieces that already existed to make the vehicles appear possessed by demons. It is WAY cool. He also switched out other pieces throughout his army to create a completely unique and innovative look. To me, this shows a person who regularly thinks outside the box and is very passionate about his hobbies and life in general. He had the courage to make the army his own and put it on the battle table for everyone to see. I think this speaks volumes about his character.
From Mario to Psychos on Fire
April 21st, 2013It’s incredible to me how shocked guys can be over the fact that a girl plays video games. At one of my shows the other night I told a server that I wanted to get home so I could get a little gaming in, and he was shocked when I told him which games I had recently beaten and which games I was currently playing.
In truth, video games have been a major part of my life for years. The first game I picked up was Pokemon on my brand new Gameboy Color in 5th grade. At recess, all the girls sat on those acrobat bars talking about the boys and the boys sat on the rocks playing with their Gameboys. They all had the Pokemon game, mostly red cartridges. So after weeks of chores, I finally saved up enough to get the blue Pokemon cartridge and I got to sit on the rocks at recess and battle the boys. Read the rest of this entry “
40k… Psychology Style
April 14th, 2013One of my favorite things to do is people watch and dissect the psychology behind why people do the things they do. (I always considered majoring in psychology, but aside from opening my own practice there isn’t a whole lot I can do with a psychology degree.)
Anyways, I’ve been mulling around the psychological reasoning for why people choose the 40k armies they choose. After sifting through some psychology theories, I think I’ve figured it out. It all comes down to conflict resolution. As much as I hate talking too much about my… personal thoughts… I’ll use myself as an example. It’s only fair, I suppose.
40k and Heels… holla!
April 7th, 2013I noticed a few of the War Dolls posting their gaming history… so I figured I would add mine to the mix.
I’m not the typical gamer, which is usually clear from the fact that I will always wear heels to a 40k game. While I have always been a video gamer, I never really ventured into tabletop games further than Scrabble and Monopoly. I absolutely am the girlfriend that started playing tabletop games to be involved in my boyfriend’s hobbies – but my intentions of just being a good girlfriend developed into a genuine love for the games. Go figure. Read the rest of this entry “
