Quick Review: 7 Days to Die (Alpha 16)

The 16th Alpha update for 7 Days to Die is out now and though I’ve only played this game for a little while, I have to say it’s a huge improvement so far and one that I was looking forward to greatly!

They’ve updated their far away Points of Interest models so that they show up outside of a certain point. Previously you would have to get fairly close to a building/PoI in order to see what was there. As seen in the photo here, there’s clearly a campsite on the hillside.

There have been a lot of other improvements with this, their largest since the first, update and it shows. They’re still releasing smaller ‘build updates’ where they are updating skins on animals, crafting recipes, and general fixes too. One of the other major updates was the painting system. You can now paint blocks to look like what you want, assuming you find the right recipe, so not every structure will be plain concrete. Now it can be tough AND pretty!

¬†Generators and electricity have been introduced as well, and while I’m still experimenting with it, I’m liking what I’ve seen so far. The auto-turrets are pretty exciting and I’m looking forward to having one soon.

The next big update I want to see is more vehicles! I just need an RV with a huge inventory space, that’s all.
